Mrs. Carter's Classes

Hello! My name is Leah Carter and I have been at O. A. Thorp for 9 years! I am a born and raised Chicagoan and a product of CPS Elementary and High Schools. I chose to go to North Park University and earned a Bachelors Degree in Counseling and Social Services. I continued my education there and earned a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with certifications in Special Education and English as a Second Language. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher. I love learning new things, so I am lucky because the kids teach me new stuff all the time. When I am not at school, I am busy with my husband, two kids and our two CRAZY puppies. We love to spend time on the water, watching movies together and goofing around outdoors. This year will fly by for all of us. Enjoy it, work hard, keep your chin up and when in doubt choose kind.
