 Funstitute!

Please join us for Thorp Funstitute!

Our Funstitute Camp will include Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics for students in grades 1 to 8 (incoming). Students will work on academics in the morning and camp style activities in the afternoon.

Kindergarten registration will come out later. All kindergarteners will be eligible, so do not worry.

Our hours will be from 9:00AM to 2:00 PM. Wednesdays will be our tentative field trip days.  Camp begins: July 7th to July 25th.

We have planned 3 weeks of fun-filled, interactive activities.

The cost will be 100 dollars per child and includes a t-shirt and field trips. Children who will not be attending Thorp in the fall are not eligible for Funstitute.  Register here.

Unfortunately, we did not receive funds for fourth quarter clubs, so they will not be available.  We apologize.

This week, we were awarded the Magnet School 2025 Merit School of Distinction Award! Thank you Ms. Schoonewolff for representing us and thank you to all of our community for making this happen.

Yearbook photos will take place Tuesday, April 15th. If your child is on a club/team with a uniform, please have them wear it.

The fastest way to make an appointment with anyone from the office is emailing [email protected]. Due to scheduling, same day appointments may not be available. If the matter is urgent, we encourage you to text 312.600.7112.

We have staff monitor the employee parking lot at arrival and dismissal. As stated before, this area is OFF LIMITS for parents dropping off and picking up children. Please show respect to the staff doing this, as this was an administrative decision.

Once students are dismissed at the end of the day, they will not be allowed back into the building to get a meal or use the bathroom.  We understand that with the warmer weather, you want your child to play on the playground, however for safety reasons, they can’t be readmitted.

The Thorp Mariachi students will be performing the pre-game music for the Chicago Wolves on April 19th at the Allstate Arena.  If you are interested in attending, you can purchase tickets on the link below.

Friends of Thorp will be hosting a week-long (!!) dine out at Jet's Pizza from April 13 - 19th.  Any order using code THORP will result in 20% back to our school! The Jet's Pizza at 5255 N Milwaukee Ave and 3951 N Kimball will both be participating.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Efren Toledo

Principal
