Thorp Families,
There is no school for students from Monday March 24th-Tuesday April 1st for Spring Break. March 31st is teacher professional development and April 1st is the 3rd quarter parent/teacher conferences. Report cards can be picked up from 12-3 and 4-6 p.m. We will see students on April 2nd!
Remember to check out the Lost and Found on Report Card Pick-Up Day. Items leftover will then be donated.
The fastest way to make an appointment with anyone from the office is emailing [email protected]. Due to scheduling, same day appointments may not be available. If the matter is urgent, we encourage you to text 312.600.7112.
CONGRATULATIONS to the 24 Thorp students for having their history fair project advance to Illinois History Day (IHD)! The state history fair will take place in Springfield on Thursday, May 1st!

Starting April 2nd, we will have staff monitor the employee parking lot at arrival and dismissal. As stated before, this area is OFF LIMITS for parents picking up children. Please show respect to the staff doing this, as this was an administrative decision.
Once students are dismissed at the end of the day, they will not be allowed back into the building to get a meal or use the bathroom. We understand that with the warmer weather, you want your child to play on the playground, however for safety reasons, they can’t be readmitted.
The Thorp Mariachi students will be performing the pre-game music for the Chicago Wolves on April 19th at the Allstate Arena. If you are interested in attending, you can purchase tickets on the link below.

All students are welcome to attend breakfast in the cafeteria every morning. As a reminder, students should eat their breakfast and then head to their assigned floor. They are not allowed to hang out in the lunchroom or use any electronic devices (including but not limited to Chromebooks and phones). Many parents have received absent/tardy notifications because their child is not reporting to their homeroom after breakfast.
Have a great break!
