On Friday, February 25th, all 7th and 8th grade students participated in the annual O.A. Thorp History Fair. Students had a choice of creating an exhibit, research paper, performance, documentary, or website on a topic that aligned with this year's National History Day theme: Frontiers in History: People, Places, Ideas. Students presented their projects to audiences of over 250 parents and family at parent preview night, as well as Thorp staff on the day of our history fair.
The following 33 Thorp students advanced to compete against nearly 50 other Chicago schools at Chicago History Day at University of Illinois-Chicago on Saturday, March 3rd:
