Winter Olympic Study Guide – Grade 4 and 5

You will have a short 5 question quiz on the following days:

4th grade: Room 202 and 203 on Monday, Jan 29th and Room 201 on Wednesday, Jan 31st

5th Grade: Room 211 and 212 on Tuesday, Jan 30th and Room 210 on Wednesday, Jan 31st

One of the questions will be What country did you represent in the Olympics in class?

I will have them listed and you will have to circle your country.

Olympic Study Guide

4th Grade Countries: United States, China, Iceland, France, Mexico, Ecuador, Japan and Canada.


5th Grade Countries: Italy, Spain, Argentina, France, Mexico, Germany, Cuba and Canada.


Skeleton is a winter sport featured in the Winter Olympic Games where the competitor rides head-first and prone (lying face down) on a flat sled. The competitor is on their stomach.


Luge is a winter sport featured at the Winter Olympic Games where a competitor or two-person team rides a flat sled while lying supine (face up) and feet first. The competitor is laying on their Back.


Bobsled is a winter sport in which teams of two or four teammates make timed runs down narrow, twisting, banked, iced tracks in a gravity-powered sled.


Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice towards a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles.
