After the presentation he will be signing books for students that pre-purchase the books. Please send a check made out to “Thorp PTA” for $8.58. Checks need to be received by Thursday, May 16.     Game Changer is about thirteen year old boy who is in a coma and fighting for his life after a tough hit during football practice. Teddy’s family and friends flock to his bedside to support his recovery by talking to him as his brain heals while he is in a coma. Was this an inevitable result of playing football or was something more sinister happening on the field that day? No one is talking but staying quiet takes its toll on everyone and divides friends, families and the entire town until silence is no longer an option.

The story unfolds in an innovative multimedia format combining dialogue, texts, newspaper articles, transcripts, an online forum and Teddy’s inner thoughts. Game Changer explores the joyous thrills and terrifying risks of America’s most popular sport.

Tommy Greenwald also writes many middle-grade books, including the popular Charlie Joe Jackson (the world’s most reluctant reader) and the Crimebiters! series about a group of friends and a superhero crime-fighting dog.

Thank you PTA and Scholastic Book Fairs! Thank you also to Mr. Toledo, Ms. Arredondo, Mr. Roberts, Mr. Vikhter and Mrs. Ruszel for their help and support with this event.
