My name is David Araujo, and I will be Thorp’s new Technology teacher this year! I have been teaching for 12 years as a Bilingual/ESL teacher for 2nd, Kindergarten, then 4th grade. I am stepping into this new role as an experienced teacher that is known for using technology in creative and meaningful ways. As a previous classroom teacher, I aimed to ensure that all students are equipped with academic skills, respect, tolerance, and problem solving. My experience in Chicago Public Schools is unique because I taught students of all ages, and have witnessed the transformative power of learning in early, intermediate elementary, and even middle school grades. In class, I hope to promote technology as a tool for communication, collaboration, and creativity. I graduated from DePaul Univeristy with a degree in Secondary Education and History. I hold a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education from the American College of Education. I live in Dunning with my wife and 2 children. I play guitar, I am HUGELY into video games, and enjoy time outdoors on the patio, or on the trail. I am excited to be a part of the Thorp community this year!
