This is my first year joining the Thorp faculty, and I’m excited to be here! I’ve been teaching for 15 years in a variety of roles, but all have related back to two of my passions: writing and literature. I’ve taught Middle School and High School English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Speech, and I’ve run a school library program. I earned my BA in Writing-Intensive English and French from Marquette University. I earned my first Master’s degree in Education from Valparaiso University and my second Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. At the end of the school day, I’m lucky that I can keep the grammar conversations going with my husband, Tom, who is a copy editor and writer. We enjoy finding grammar and spelling errors in the wild (menus, billboards, etc.). We have 2 energetic and entertaining sons, Sam and Timmy, who love Legos, superheroes, science experiments, and bike rides. I’m looking forward to getting to know the Thorp community and to a great year!
