In our last Library Media class of the 2015 – 2016 school year, Kindergarten, First, Second and Third Graders read the “Monarch Reflections Book” that Mrs. Ruszel was making for them all year. After listening to books during Library, students completed a worksheet where they responded to the literature by drawing a picture of their favorite part of the book, writing about it and rating it. Mrs. Ruszel and some wonderful parent volunteers organized each students’ work and compiled it into their “Monarch Reflections Book.” Students read their own books and shared their thoughts and books with each other after coloring the Monarch Butterfly on the cover of their book. The Monarch Butterfly symbolizes the emerging readers and writers that our students become when they listen and respond to literature. Congratulations to all our emerging and accomplished READERS and WRITERS!
