Individualized Learning Paths
How to use the Thorp Individualized Learning Path
For Teachers – The ILP”s provide the instructional skills measured by the NWEA MAP test. The skills are aligned to Common Core and the Descartes Continuum of Learning. As you work in differentiated small groups the ILP can be used as a progress monitoring tool ensuring that student growth targets are covered. You may use the different ILP’s as a progress monitoring and pacing tool as you take anecdotal records for your small groups. Please note that ILP’s should be used with your class breakdown report and the target (ASG) RIT score for each child in mind.
For Parents: The ILP”s provide the instructional skills measured by the NWEA MAP test. The skills are aligned to Common Core and the Descartes Continuum of Learning. You may want to use the ILP’s with your child to reinforce the skills being learned in their classroom. Additionally as students work on computer aided learning programs such as Compass Learning, Mathletics, Achieve 3000 and Khan Academy you may want to keep track of the progress your child is making ensuring that all skills are covered for their goal RIT band.
