Dear Parents:


The next few weeks will be busy and exciting at Thorp School. Here are the events and announcements for the upcoming weeks at Thorp:


  • NWEA MAP results are being sent home today with the students.


  • Summer Bridge letters will be sent home on Monday.


  • 8th Grade Graduation will be on Monday, June 17th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium. Congratulations to our eighth grade graduates!


  • Our Kindergarten Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 20th from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.


  • Thank you to the Thorp PTA for the Carnival that is being held today from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please come out for a great time!


  • A very special thank you to Mr. John and Mrs. Laura Muncy for their years of service to Thorp School.


  • Thorp School has a vacancy on our Local School Council for a parent position. If you are interested, please join us on June 15th for our LSC Meeting. If you would like additional information, please check the Thorp website at for more details.


  • Career Day for 6th and 7th grades will be held on Thursday, June 20th from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.


  • A Dance Art dance performance will be held on Friday, June 21st at 10:00 a.m. in the auditorium.


  • A Blood and Bone Marrow Drive to support Emma Gomez will be held at the Harlem Irving Plaza (HIP) on Friday, June 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.


  • The Broadway Beat Assembly will be held in the auditorium on Thursday, June 13th. Kindergarten through fourth grade will assemble at 8:35 a.m. and grades five through eight will assemble at 9:15 a.m.


  • The last day of school will be on Monday, June 24th. This will be a full day of attendance for students.
