NWEA MAP testing will continue through Friday, May 23rd. Next week, our K-1 students will take the Mathematics and Reading portions of the assessment. Our K-7 Yearbook presales will end on Monday. You may order them online at the Thorp website. We will only guarantee delivery of yearbooks to those families who pre-pay for their yearbook.
Thorp’s Academic Fair will be held from Tuesday, May 27th through Friday, May 30th. For our Academic Fair, we are going to have students exhibit the work they are most proud of this year. Homeroom teachers will be placing Science Fair Boards, History Dioramas, art work, and other student projects in the hallway. The whole school will be able to marvel at our hard work, and students may be inspired by the efforts of their peers. Parent Night will be on Thursday, May 29th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Students will be able to present to their parents the projects they are most proud of this school year. (This is the first time we will try this – but I hope it will be a lasting tradition celebrating our students’ achievements.)
There was a change of venue for our upcoming Parent’s Night. Friends of Thorp will host a Parent’s night out at Legno’s, (formally known as Superossa) on Friday, May 30th. Please see the note being sent home.
