MAP Testing

MAP Testing Resources for Parents

Parents thank you for taking the time to learn about MAP Testing. Thorp Academy along with all other CPS elementary schools is using the Northwest Evaluation Association MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) to track student growth in Reading and Math. Although the MAP test is new to Chicago, many suburban school districts (Park Ridge, Niles, Elgin, Glenview and many more) have been using it to gauge student growth for years. of you who have friends and family in the suburbs may already be familiar with this type of test.  MAP tests are nationally normed and use the RIT standard to measure your child’s academic progress.

Below is the presentation I shared with our parents on November 29th. I’m also including specific links to help our Thorp community more effectively use the information gleaned from our MAP testing.
