Dear New Families,
Welcome and Congratulations on becoming part of the OA Thorp Scholastic Community! We strive to educate and develop the whole child. We have a multi-faceted fine arts program; a successful sports program with multiple regional and city championships; and a number of free and paid after-school enrichment experiences. Most importantly, our learning activities emphasize the 21st-century skills of CARING, CREATIVITY, COMMUNICATION, COLLABORATION and CRITICAL THINKING. Over the next several years, your child will utilize the FIVE C’s while at Thorp.
At the core of our classroom instruction is the belief that students demonstrate, articulate and share their knowledge. Small groups and authentic learning opportunities are at the heart of our instruction. At Thorp, we understand that you have placed your trust in us to nurture the academic development of your child. We value your trust and will strive every day to live up to your expectations. Together, we will work to provide your child a rich and dynamic environment where they learn and continually grow.
